RED CROSS CHALLENGE 2012

‘Dance Make Your Move’
In 2012 we decided to enter our seniors and inters in a national competition hosted by the Red Cross, called ‘’Dance Make Your Move’’

This competition was for anyone aged 4 – 18 and was for all abilities. The Red Cross invite any primary, secondary or special school, as well as colleges, youth groups and dance groups to enter. There are two age groups, one for juniors and one for seniors.

Our aim was to qualify for the National Final at the IndigO2 at the O2 arena in London. All pupils did a fantastic job and really did themselves and the school proud. Unfortunately we did not qualify for the final however THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!

As part of this competition we set ourselves a target of raising money for the British Red Cross. More information can be found on our
charities we support page. We would like to say a great big thank-you and well doen to the following pupils who went above and beyond:

Chloe Mai Insall - £10 making and selling cakes

Chloe Walmsley-Worral £10 via her just-giving page

Lara Clement - £56 via her just-giving page

Mae Brazier - £135 via her just-giving page and the top fundraiser in the school – well done Mae.

2) FAMILY QUIZ NIGHT
On Saturday 21st April 2012 we hosted an evening of family fun, where there was a quiz
hosted by a professional quizmaster followed by a disco. The evening also included
party games. We raised further money through our raffle and the opportunity to enter our
‘Higher or Lower’ game!

A great night was had by all, raising money for a very worthy cause and we would like to thank all those who attended.

3) DANCE-A-THON
On Saturday 19th May 2012 pupils returned to dancing in the afternoon to complete a
sponsored 2 hour dance-a-thon. This involved pupils of a range of ages working
together performing routines non-stop. All pupils were asked to raised £2.50, however
many pupils far exceeded this target – yet again another great achievement by our
pupils. Well done all.
