We were delighted to welcome Rianne to RND Academy of Dance in 2010 when she joined as a pupil in order to learn the styles of Ballet and Tap. Rianne has danced from an early age obtaining many successes with Gemini Dance School and a grade B in GCSE Dance before progressing to Redditch New College where she completed a National Diploma in Performing Arts; passing this course with a triple Distinction. She currently attends Manchester Metropolitan University where she is studying BA Honours degree in Dance, following this her intention is to apply for a PGCE teaching qualification and hopefully become a teacher of dance in secondary education.
Rianne is also considering opening her own dance company in the future and therefore as well as completing her own performance examinations will begin to prepare for her teaching qualifications by assisting Rachael, Nichola and Donna on Saturday mornings.
Some of her many accomplishments have been performances such as performing for Ruby Wax, being selected for the role of a featured dancer in the film Northern Soul and working alongside Ricky Tomlinson, cast members of Hollyoaks and Lisa Stansfield. Rianne has been a backing dancer for the band Plan B, she has passed many examinations with exceptional grades and has been successful in a whole range of dance competitions up and down the country.

Melissa has been dancing since the age of three and joined RND when the school opened in February 2009. She remains a valued memebr of the senior class performing and competing to a high standard. Melissa has been awarded with the trophy for the highest examination result in fresstyle on two occassions not only out performing pupils in her class but the whole school and was awarded with the trophy for 'Most Improved Senior' at our 2012 presentation evening.

Melissa is currently studying four AS levels at Alcester Grammar school following her outstanding success at GCSE level, achieving 10 A* grades and 1 A grade. She wishes to pursue a career in journalism after completing an English Literature degree at University.

Melissa assists with lessons on a Friday evening and is building a great rapport with our younger pupils.

Emma has also been dancing since the age of three, joining RND academy of dance in 2011 where she currently participates in four disciplinesof dance; Ballet (including pointe work), Tap, Freestyle and Modern Jazz. Emma's favourite discipline is Tap and over previous years she too has performed to a high standard here at RND. She was awarded the trophy for the 'Most Improved Senior' at our presntation evening in December 2014 following her excellent performance and choreography for her GCSE PE exam. This exam required Emma to perform a routine showcasing her own dance ability as well as choreography task; Emma decided to choreograph a tap routine for our 5 and 6 year old pupils who attend on a Saturday morning. A routine Rachael, Nichola and Donna were so impressed with they plan to use it in the next competitions. Emma received the highest marks in her freestyle exam in 2013, beating not only the other pupils in her class but all the pupils in the school who entered a fresstyle exam.

Emma is currently in Year 11 and is preparing for her GCSE examinations, she is hoping to achieve a total of 12 GCSE's in August and then progress onto sixth form to study A-levels. She now assist with Friday evening lessons, where she has become a valued member of our team.

Alena Chambers

Alena joined RND Academy of Dance in 2010 as part of her work experience required for the completion of her Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA).
Alena attended Kingsley College, where she studied both GCSE and A Level Dance.  She is a talented performer as indicated by the results she received, having obtained a Grade A at both levels.  Alena also excels in other sports such as Netball, being a former Worcestershire County representative.
We were so impressed with Alena during her placement, RND asked would she like to continue assisting on a more regular basis.  To the delight of RND, she enjoyed working with all the pupils so much that she did not want to leave.  Since then she has helped to prepare pupils for examinations and productions.  Alena brought to RND not only excellence in performance, but fresh choreography and up to date ideas.

Alena unfortunately left the company in September 2012 to pursue other career interests, having qualified in July 2012 as a beautician . While Alena does not attend weekly sessions and is no longer involved in teaching within the school, she is still very supportive of our pupils assisting at various events and shows. Alena is greatly missed and we wish her all the very best and hope to see her return one day soon.
