Presentation Evening

Following every examination session we hold a presentation evening. Here; parents, friends and family of the pupils are invited to join us while pupils perform some of their examination work and are presented with their certificates and medals.

Every year we like to use the evening to support a local charity and are very grateful to the parents of RND Academy of Dance for helping this become a reality. Details of the charities we have supported thus far are detailed below and can be found by clicking here

MOST IMPROVED PERFORMER

We also use the evenings to award special awards for the ‘Most Improved’ pupils in each age category. This award is presented by Rachael, Nichola and Donna to the pupils whom they believe have not only made tremendous progress since joining the school, but to those who show great potential and excellent performance skills. Pupils who are presented with these awards tend to obtain high examination results, further demonstrating their potential.

HIGHEST EXAMINATION SCORES

After every examination session Rachael, Nichola and Donna like to announce the pupil who achieved the highest grade in each discipline. Starting from January 2014 Rachael, Nichola and Donna decided to celebrate the success of these individuals by issuing a trophy at the presentation evening. Pupils will keep the trophy until the next examination session; at which point they will pass it on to the next worthy recipient.

Please follow this link to see a record of those pupils who have achieved the highest scores in each discipline in each of our previous examination sessions.

We also introduced a new award that recognises excellent technical ability, high quality performance skills and a high level of potential within the field of dance.
The winners/winners will be selectd by RND Academy of Dance teaching staff and will entitle the winner to half price lessons for 12 months.

PRESENTATION EVENING 1

FRIDAY 11th DECEMBER 2009

This was our first ever presentation evening and it was a great success, with all pupils delighted with their achievements and many proud parents.

We would like to thank the Post 16 pupils of Kingsley College for providing the refreshments for our presentation evening. The pupils were taking part in a programme called World Challenge, where by which they visit a developing country for 3 weeks to provide help and assistance in the local community. However, prior to their expedition each pupil had to raise £2,000 - £3,000 to fund the trip and to buy the necessary materials to complete tasks such as building an orphanage.

RND Academy of Dance would like to thank all of the parents, friends and family of our pupils for supporting this charity and digging deep for their cause.

PRESENTATION EVENING 10

We had no nominations this year from parents so Rachael and Nichola decided to support ex-pupil Alicia Fielder in her bid to raise money, awareness and her very thoughtful and kind gesture of donating her hair to The Princess Trust. The charity make wigs for those children who have lost their hair to cancer and each wig costs approximately £350 to make. We are very proud to have helped Alicia raise over £600 for the charity.
Well done Alicia a super kind and thoughtful thing to do for those much less fortunate than ourselves and thank you once again to the RND pupils, parents, friends and family for helping us to raise money for such a worthy cause.

PRESENTATION EVENING 11
Saturday 8th March 2017

We had lots of nominations this year so therefore decided to allow the parents and pupils to vote for the charity they wanted most to support. The vote went overwhelmingly in the favour of The Birminghams Children's Hospital. Within a week of us hosting the presentation evening we heard news of an amazing challenge a former pupils was embarking on. Josie James had been a member of RND Academy of Dance for 2-3 years when unfortunaley on the day of our summer showcase, while playing in the park she was bitten on the face by a dog. Josie wanted to give something back to the hospital and staff who helpoed her with her recovery and decided to swim half a mile in a bid to raise money for The childrens hospital. We were delighted to be able to support both Josie and the hospital with our latest fundraising.
